![]() ![]() I can understand that some people with SQ issues might benefit. Build a Raspberry Pi DLNA Server With ReadyMedia Formerly known as MiniDLNA, ReadyMedia requires installing on the standard Raspberry Pi operating system. I will also try the Linn Kazoo control app (on the same tablet) through the BubbleUPnP Server too and see what that reveals. So I will give it a try using the BubbleUPnP Server and check the results. I still have the Denon connected although not used since I acquired the Linn which overcame these issues. A home media server lets you watch videos and listen to music files that you already own over your local network or remotely over the internet. The Linn streamer replaced a Denon DNS 730AE streamer (with 24/192 spec) and I did have some issues with hi-res files and often transcoded to 24/48 to avoid these. It may also be more stable - time will tell. Is it better? Not sure as it is difficult to do an A/B test. I am alert to SQ and would not have been satisfied previously if the SQ had been lacking. My equipment is all wired except of course the tablet. My Internet is a VirginMedia fibre (378m) and fast TrendNet router but includes Devolo powerline adapters due to the awkward location of my “music room”. This feeds a Linn Majik DS streamer connected to Naim pre-amp/power amp. My setup is Serviio media server on a “dedicated” PC for local media, BubbleUPnP control app (on a Amazon Fire HDX 7 tablet (old)) which has functionality for Qobuz (studio hi-res subscription) and Tidal (which I don’t use) streaming and others. I never had any issues with SQ only perhaps with continuity on hi-res. This is very difficult as I am trying to remember how it sounded before (and that was only yesterday!). On the Find page, navigate downward and select the Search card. If you can update us on this and say how you previously played it that would be appreciated. It would be great to know whether this sounds the same, better or worse than how you previously played Qobuz on the same equipment. ![]() I never had any problems with playing Qobuz or my Qobuz hi-res previously (apart from very very occasional glitch that could have been anything) or with SQ but I will now see how it goes. ![]() It did not seem to offer me 24/192 option for my Qobuz subscription initially but then it came up (bit confusing). Glad to say everything appears to be working nicely. Used the 32bit version as I selected the “Windows Service” option which requires it (Serviio also runs as a Windows Service) so if the PC re-boots (say after a Windows update) then everything should be operational as the PC is always on and I do not normally touch it. Installed Java 8 (32bit) on my Windows PC (64bit) that acts as my Serviio server for my local media. Many thanks for the info on BubbleUPnP Server. Qobuz/Tidal is then pretty much the same SQ as CD rips and downloads store on your NAS. It acts as a proxy server for non-local streams and your control tablet no longer has to stream the music over WiFi. ![]()
